How to add funds to a Metamask Wallet?

Here are two ways to easily fund your account:

Add Funds Directly within MetaMask

1. Buy Directly within MetaMask

Depending on where you live, you may be able to purchase Ethereum directly on Metamask using Apple pay, a credit card, or a debit card.

Buying crypto with a credit card may incur additional fees, depending on which third-party provider you use. You may also not receive the entire crypto amount immediately.

  • Open the MetaMask wallet extension or the mobile app.

  • Press Buy ETH.

  •  Select a third-party service such as Wyre, Transak or MoonPay.

  • Follow the steps provided by the third-party service. You may need to submit personal information like an ID card or proof of residence to meet KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements.

  • Once you’re finished purchasing, the funds should appear in your wallet

Add Funds From a Cryptocurrency Exchange

2. Funding From a Crypto Exchange

If you set up an account with something like Coinbase, FTX, or Binance, you can buy larger amounts of ETH (and other cryptocurrencies) using your bank and then send the ETH from your Coinbase account to your public ETH address.

  • Open Metamask. Click “Buy”

  • Choose Directly Deposit Ether

  • Send ETH to your 0X address or scan QR Code from your Coinbase app

You will need to pay a “Gas fee” for all of these transactions on the Ethereum network.
